The wind market is evolving very quickly, with towers becoming ever higher and stronger to support larger rotors in order to capture more wind. Concrete and hybrid towers have therefore emerged as an alternative to traditional steel towers, thanks to their durability, stability and high structural damping. Precasting of the tower’s concrete segments is a key element for complying with quality requirements and specifications as well as for ensuring timely delivery and erection.

Thanks to its long-term expertise in bridge construction, VSL has the experience, equipment, specialized staff and methods needed to set up and operate bespoke precast yards under all site conditions, even in remote areas. VSL can also carry out erection on site of the precast elements. Our extensive know-how in designing facilities and specialized equipment ensures high quality and productivity. We have highly industrialized our precasting processes and our specialist knowledge of concrete technologies allows us to optimize and refine the design, precasting and erection process and interfaces.

We are able to provide a full package for our clients, from researching suitable sites for the yard, securing permits and carrying out the civil works through to full precasting and erection of the concrete tower segments, including all engineering and construction.

As we generally pre-assemble components near the construction site, we also contribute to supporting the local economy and maximizing local content.
