BALUARTE BRIDGE

2012

VSL built the Baluarte Bridge, the highest cable-stayed bridge in the world and the highest bridge in America at the time of its construction, in a consortium with three Mexican partners. The bridge, which marked the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence, is 402.57 metres high above riverbed and has a 520m-long central span, the longest cable-stayed span in North America.
VSL installed the segments and stay cables for the bridge and its approaches at an average cycle of just one week for each of the final seven segments on both sides of the ravine.
