BRIDGE OVER THE DRANSE RIVER

As part of remediation works, the owner, Swiss Federal Roads Office, decided to include seismic retrofitting so that the bridge would meet the latest seismic standards. VSL designed, supplied and installed bearings and seismic dampers using its Preloaded Spring Dampers (PSD) for a bridge carrying the A9 highway over the Dranse River in Martigny, Switzerland. This was the first time VSL used the PSD solution in Switzerland.
