VSL contributed to the construction of the car park. VSL was responsible for the design and shop drawings for pre-stressed structures, as well as the supply and construction of the post-tensioned slabs. The VSL design and build approach offered savings in cost and time, and our technical alternative made it possible to reduce embodied carbon in the slabs, including the car park and the transfer slabs, by 30%. A further consequence was that by minimising the weight of the structure it was also possible to save materials and reduce embodied carbon in the vertical columns and walls.
