Ichthys LNG project
The Ichthys LGN project is a major energy project, and with it’s development will have the capacity to produce 8.9 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LGN) per year. VSL was appointed to supply and assist in post-tensioning (PT) works in the construction of the tanks. VSL’s own AF anchorage system was deemed particularly suitable for the project. The AF anchorage meant that less reinforcement was needed, and the thickness of the wall could be reduced, as well as allowing for a simpler design of the tank, meaning that the use of the AF anchorage reduced the cost, as it minimised the amount of concrete needed to built the tanks. Furthermore, VSL also carried out the recording and management of quality assurance for the PT, and provided equipment for the execution of the work.
