INCHEON BRIDGE

VSL was awarded a contract by Samsung to design and install 192 VSL Friction Dampers and 16 HDR Dampers on the Incheon Bridge, a major cable-stayed crossing in South Korea with an 805m long main cable-supported span. This was the first time that friction dampers were used in Asia, to protect the structure from severe environmental conditions due to its location between Yeongjong Island and the mainland of Incheon.
