Kuala Lumpur International Airport – Structural assessment and repair of the aerotrain guideway

As part of a project to replace the existing 20-year-old aerotrain at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, VSL Malaysia conducted a thorough structural assessment of the existing guideway structure, which includes 40 spans and bearings. The scope of the work extended to executing repairs of the cracks and spalling that were identified, with a focus on achieving the structural integrity necessary to accommodate the new aerotrain system. VSL reused as much of the existing structure as possible through strategic repair and replacement. This not only contributed to a reduced carbon footprint but also optimised project timelines.
