An extensive programme of ground investigation was required ahead of the project to connect the existing Lok Ma Chau Spur line with Tuen Ma Line on Hong Kong’s MTR. Intrafor Hong Kong was awarded a contract to concurrently drill two horizontal directional cored (HDC) holes, each 930 metres long. In addition, the company was commissioned to carry out hydrogeological testing, and geological and discontinuity logging.
