Intrafor played a huge role in the extension of Port Hercules in Monaco. They did the marine vibro compaction work and faced many challenges that the underwater grouting brought with it. They therefore had to adopt an alternative treatment method. Rather than treating the area by grouting, Intrafor decided on using vibratory ground improvement. They opted for vibro compaction in order to stabilize the foundations for the caissons. With an onshore trial that was performed in order to determine the feasibility of compacting the backfill material. With the trail completed successfully, vibro compaction was carried out, completing 282 compaction points.
