VSL – Intrafor has deployed a trenchless construction technique, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), to install a subsea pipeline for a data cable in a complex geological setting. The flexibility and steerability of HDD tooling make it ideal when facing challenging ground conditions and dealing with man-made obstacles. VSL was able to adapt the drilling tools to suit the difficult geology and to achieve an on-target punch-out.
