Wadi Leban Bridge – Dampers

The 763m-long Wadi Leban bridge was completed in 1999. At the time of construction, VSL had designed and supplied post-tensioning and stay cables for the iconic structure. After 14 years of service and a severe storm in 2013, VSL was commissioned to inspect the stay cables and subsequently install its friction damping system on each of the 248 stays to prevent excessive cable vibrations. The bridge remained in operation throughout the installation.
