VSL installed stay cables and carried out lifting and sliding of canopy segments weighing between 800 and 1,200t for a 286m-diameter steel roof crowning the FC Zenit football stadium, which opened for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Saint Petersburg. VSL lifted 15 of the 16 segments from ground level and then slid into their final positions at roof height for this unique structure capable of hosting semi-final matches.
