COLNE VALLEY VIADUCT

Part of the HS2 project, the 3.4 km Colne Valley Viaduct is one of the UK’s most significant rail structures. VSL UK delivered deck erection and post-tensioning using balanced cantilever construction, installing over 1,000 segments across 56 piers. To preserve slender aesthetics and durability, VSL introduced a new generation of external tendons, supplying 1,200 tonnes of external PT and 1,000 tonnes of PL3 electrically isolated internal tendons, enabling long-term performance and maintainability.
