LAGUNITAS MINE

Chile’s state-owned copper mining giant, Codelco DNL, initiated a major expansion project at the Lagunitas mine to boost copper concentrate production. VSL Chile secured the design and construction contract for the structure of the clarifier, a vital component in water treatment, featuring a 54-metre-diameter and 4.5-metre-high tank. Our innovative approach involved substituting precast segments for the existing conventional reinforced concrete walls, resulting in significant time and labour savings during construction.
