570M LAND TO SEA HDD CONDUIT FOR OPTIC FIBRE CABLE

Hong Kong Telecommunications Ltd (HKT) contracted Intrafor to install a 570m long subsea conduit to carry their Ultra Express Link highspeed fibre optic data cable. Both HDD and down-the-hole hammer techniques (DTH) were used to successfully overcome the challenging ground conditions. On completion of drilling, a beach manhole was constructed to allow connection to the existing fibre optic networks.
