803M DIRECTIONAL CORE FOR MTR TUNNEL DESIGN

The Hong Kong Government Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) awarded Intrafor a contract to undertake an HDC drillhole for the investigation of a tunnel as part of the new Smart & Green Mass Transit System in East Kowloon. HDC holes are the most cost effective ground investigation method for tunnels & caverns providing detailed geological, structural & hydrogeological data in the actual alignment & orientation of the structure. For this project 1no 803m hole was cored with a radius of 210m, full length discontinuity survey, 58 insitu hydrogeological tests and over 200 laboratory tests.
