VSL strengthened the A34 Thames Wytham Crossing, a vital highway bridge over the River Thames near Oxford, while keeping traffic fully operational. The team designed and installed an external multistrand post-tensioning system within confined abutment chambers, using an optimised methodology that reduced programme duration and supported a repair-over-replace, low-carbon approach.
