VSL provided expertise on durability of bridge structures, advances in post-tensioning and cable stay technologies, bridge health monitoring and innovative construction methods. In particular, for the first time in Hong Kong, VSL installed external tendons using its E-WT technology to ensure outstanding durability and allow ease of inspection, repair and replacement of the external tendons VSL also installed Protection Level 3 (PL3) to best mitigate corrosion risks on post-tensioned tendons. Lastly, the VSL SSI2000D system was used for the hanger cables – a first in Hong Kong and maybe in the world for stay cables. This system circulates dehumidified air along the full length of each tendon to protect against corrosion.
