REMOTE GROUND INVESTIGATION AND STRESS TESTING

The Hong Kong Government Highways Department awarded Intrafor a contract to undertake ground investigation for the proposed Tsing Yi -Lantau Link comprising of a suspension bridge and associated access tunnels & highways. The ground investigation was undertaken on a remote mountainside without road access requiring all plant to be mobilised by helicopter. To understand the orientation and magnitude of the insitu rock stresses 30no., hydrofracture tests were undertaken by Intrafor’s technicians.
