SWAFFHAM PRIOR HEAT NETWORK

Swaffham Prior, a village of 300 homes in East Cambridgeshire, became one of the first villages in the UK to install a geothermal heating network into an existing community. VSL UK contributed to this low-carbon project by carrying out the deep drilling for installation of the in-ground heat exchange pipes. The work involved boring a total of 87 holes to a depth of 205 m, backfilling them with geothermal grout, and installing the heat exchange pipes.
